Recapping

In the search for Oscar’s background there is always a constant a question, why an artist like Alzate took refuge in his studio, hiding from the artistic scene? Those who knew him know that this was a conscious and critical act against artistic “demagogy”, against the imposition of pictorial styles, and against everything about the system which did not allow Alzate to be who he wanted to be. Fortunately, this allowed Alzate to focus on a rigorous study of light and colour which led him to be an impressionist who took this technique to an unprecedented dimension.
